The Midwifery Model of Care
Statistically, women who are found to be in good health & low risk
labor and birth better at home.

The Midwifery Model of Care is based upon the fact that pregnancy, labor, and birth are normal life occurrences.

The Midwifery Model of Care includes:

  • The monitoring of the physical, emotional, psychological, and social well being of the expectant mother throughout the childbearing cycle/process.

  • Providing the expectant parent(s) with individualized education, counseling, and prenatal care, continuous assistance during labor, delivery, and postpartum support.

  • The minimization for the need of technological interventions.

  • Identifying and referring out those women who are in need of the care of an obstetrician.

My Team

At Homebirth Services of Southern Nevada we pride ourselves on putting our clients, and their baby's well being first. This means that there are two skilled attendants at your birth.

The midwife I work with predominantly is Cassie Franco, CPM, LM and like myself, she is trained in neonatal resuscitation, Birth Emergency Skills and CPR & BLS. In the event that Cassie is attending another birth and is unavailable, we have several trained assistants who will accompany me. Meeting Cassie or the assistant who will be attending your birth is always encouraged, and this meeting is usually towards the end of the pregnancy.
